Last Friday night we packed into the car with two of our best friends and headed west to attend the Gentlemen of the Road Stopover in Dixon, IL. We kicked off the weekend with a Friday night stroll around downtown Dixon, a showing of the documentary Big Easy Express, $2 beers at Stables (yes, only $2), and a night filled with new friends, great music, and gut wrenching laughs. Saturday morning we went to the Dixon Farmer’s Market, had a fun photo shoot with a brick wall (see below), and enjoyed all the food, people, and music of Dixon. When the concert finally began around two we grabbed seats in the sun, played cards, and took in the amazing bands performing on two alternating stages. By the end of the night we were even more obsessed with Mumford & Sons and had new favorites such as Apache Relay, Haim, Dawes, Abigail Washburn, Gogol Bordello, Nathanial Ratliffe, and The Very Best. Definitely recommend checking them all out! By far one of my most unforgettable weekends with unforgettable friends, might just have to see them in Brisbane this fall again! How was everyone’s weekend?!
